Chintamani Kar bird sanctuary is popularly called protected space reputed for its extensive sort of birds, butterflies, epiphytes, ferns and orchids. it is set terribly near the metropolis Kolkata. This little sanctuary spread over seventeen acres is a kin drive to the south of Kolktata. It's native name was 'Kayaler Bagan'. the area was originally proclaimed as a sanctuary in 1982 however reborn when Govt. of West Bengal possed at a significant price in October 2005. Noted creative person Chintamoni Kar who, together with native people and NGO's, fought for many years to get wildlife sanctuary standing for 'Kayaler Bagan'. it had been later renamed as Chintamani Kar aviary.
